The Humour-less Poem

This 'preachy' poem was written in jest to myself. Written on a whim, it just about manages to express my thoughts in the most simplistic verses possible. It is almost too simplistic - both content and language wise - but anyways, I did not expect a great poetic idea to spring up in a mind obsessed with Partial Differential Equations, plant design for vinyl chloride monomer among other things...

Humour may not be funny
It may be dry
Humour is not for All
It can make a face go wry.
Fun and humour
Is not always the same
For if someone is hurt
You should take the blame
‘Speak when you are spoken to’,
The Wise Men have said,
For if silence is golden,
You are with a true friend.
Have a lot of fun,
Live your Life,
But always remember,
Never to cause strife.
Remember to laugh at yourself,
Before You make fun of others
For if you cannot do that
You are not sensitive, Brother.
